Antoine Winfield has returned to the Minnesota Vikings one day after the funeral for his slain brother.
Winfield practiced on Friday and will play against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The cornerback missed practice on Thursday to fly to his hometown of Akron, Ohio for the funeral. His brother, 30-year-old Anthony Travis, was killed last week.
Winfield played the season opener after hearing the news and says laying Travis to rest on Thursday was ''one of the toughest days of my life.''
He says he's found comfort through the support of his teammates and the Vikings organization. Vikings GM Rick Spielman flew to Akron to attend the funeral as well, and coach Leslie Frazier says Winfield has the team's full backing as he copes with the tragedy.

Vikings' Robison holding own alongside Allen
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is still getting his first impressions of the NFL entering his second start on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but he knew what his main concerns are with the Vikings' defense.

Vikings' offense looks to torment young Colts
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. For a few seconds last Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings looked like they might be close to suffering a similar fate as last year when they went 3-13 and late, blown leads were common occurences. The Jacksonville Jaguars had just taken a 23-20 lead with a 39-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds left. But Minnesota proved this truly is a new season, coming back in the...

Fantasy Football Week 2: Minnesota Vikings @ Indianapolis Colts
Minnesota Vikings @ Indianapolis ColtsMinnesota: This might shape up to be one of the more exciting games fantasy-wise of the week, mostly because neither team seems to sport a defense capable of stopping anyone. The Vikings ended up in a pseudo-shootout with the Jaguars of all teams, a group that couldn’t get out of their own way offensively a year ago. Christian Ponder...
7 Questions for the Vikings Game
The new era got off to quite a start last week and it looked startlingly like the old era or at least the last year of the old era. After getting mopped by the Bears at Soldier Field the Colts now host the Vikings at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.
Last week the Vikings scraped by Jacksonville in overtime behind Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin and a suddenly-effective Christian Ponder...
Acting Cordial: Talking Vikings and Colts with Colts Authority
Welcome to Acting Cordial, which is the easiest article we get to produce all week on this stupid blog, because someone else does half the work for us! In reality, it's a decent way to see what's going on with this week's Vikings opponent, dig inside their diseased minds, and find out just how badly we're going to get our faces sat on. This week, we team...
