Amidst the fallout of the abomination that we called the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles season, speculation that Andy Reid would be fired was running rampant.
After Jeff Lurie’s end-of-season press conference, it seemed clear that the 2012 season would be do-or-die for Andy Reid.
Now, it appears that Reid won the ever-so-non-existent (if you believe the Eagles) power struggle when Joe Banner was “volun-told” to step down as team president.
So, is Andy Reid still on the hot seat in 2012 or did Lurie put some ice on it by removing Joe Banner from the picture?

With Banner Out, is Andy Reid’s Seat Hotter or Cooler?
As a reminder, I will be contributing one – two articles per week on GCobb.com and posting teasers here with a link to the article. Thanks!
BEST OF MAXIM
Eagles coach Andy Reid left his 90-man roster with a message he wants top of mind for all players until the team reconvenes at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., at the end of July. "This is going to be a tough training camp for them," Reid said as minicamp concluded Thursday. "I've talked to the team about that. It's going to be a demanding training camp...
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of five NFL teams that boast a bird as their mascot. On Wednesday, the Eagles took a step to distinguish themselves from the other birds, and added some new players to its organization. The Eagles have announced a partnership with Rovio, the entertainment company that created the wildly popular game "Angry Birds." Rovio released a video on...
The Philadelphia Eagles concluded mini-camp on Thursday. The team invited three players to join the team for practices on a tryout basis–WR Raymond Webber, LB Ryan Rau and DE Frank Trotter (no relation to Jeremiah) . It seems that two of the three impressed enough to get a spot on the roster, which now sits at 89 (90 is the maximum).
Rau (6-1, 230) was a four-year letterman at...

While no team likes to see any of their own fall victim to the injury bug, there are few players that a team can actually afford to lose.
This sentiment holds true even for the Philadelphia Eagles, a team loaded with Pro Bowl talent on both sides of the ball.
In this article, we place a focus on the defensive side of the ball and count down the five...
The Philadelphia Eagles and Rovio, the outfit behind the wildy successful Angry Birds franchise, have announced an unprecedented partnership that will at the very least include an Eagles-centric version of the game, tentatively scheduled to be released this fall. Said Andrew Stalbow, Rovio’s General Manager for North America: “We’re very selective, we haven’t done a [...]
Michael Vick has something to prove. So does Andy Reid.
These Philadelphia Eagles aren't the talk of the NFL the way they were last summer. After failing miserably to live up to enormous expectations and their own ''Dream Team'' label, the Eagles know they have to earn respect.
The team completed its three-day minicamp Thursday and anxiously awaits the start...
We are now entering the doldrums of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offseason. With all of the OTAs completed, nothing else is scheduled until rookies report for training camp in just over five weeks.
Therefore, I thought it might be a good time to look back on the 2011 season and reminisce about particular plays that made you say…WTF! (What The F@&#!)
Come on guys and gals, you...
On a slow Philadelphia sports day, with the Phillies being 9.5 games back in the NL East, the Flyers and their fans recovering from seeing the Kings win the cup, the Eagles made a suprisingly big announcement. Today the Philadelphia Eagles have announced a partnership with "Angry Birds".

As strange as it may sound, the Philadelphia Eagles and Rovio announced a partnership that will include an Eagles-centric Angry Birds game to be launched this fall as well as some other promotional initiatives and in-stadium integration throughout the 2012 NFL season, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Angry Birds is a mobile game app that has tallied over...
In this week’s Face/Off, it’s a matchup of mobile quarterbacks and former #1 overall picks in Philadelphia’s Michael Vick against Carolina’s Cam Newton. I’ll tell you why you should take Cam Newton and not even second guess it.
Last season, Newton accounted for 14 rushing touchdowns and became one of the more valuable quarterbacks in fantasy. ...
Without a doubt, Cam Newton‘s rookie season will go down in the record books as one of the best by a rookie QB in the history of the NFL. However, it is said that it is harder to stay at the top than it is to actually get there, as we have seen many spectacular campaigns being followed by something rather mediocre. Now that coaches and players have seen what Newton brings to...
On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles completed the last day of mini-camp, ending several weeks of offseason workouts. The players will not meet again as a team until training camp at Lehigh University at the end of July.
Some notes from this week’s mini-camp:
Gold star for the week
There was 100% attendance for the team. The camp is mandatory, but a lack of contract disputes meant...
