That’s 12 days from today. Do you know where your Bronco players are?

All reports point to NFL owners and players signing off on a new collective bargaining agreement by next Thursday. Once there’s an agreement, the lockout would end and players can pretty much immediately report to team trainer Steve Antonopulos and strength and conditioning coach Rich Tuten and the team’s facilities.

If there is a new CBA next week, the tentative plan is for the free agency/trade period to open July 25 for veterans with four years of service. There may be a couple-day window prior to July 25 for teams to sign undrafted rookies.

The Broncos are tentatively scheduled to open Camp Fox _ the team’s first training camp under the direction of new head coach John Fox _ on Thursday, July 28. Players would officially report on July 27. Those dates may be adjusted by a day or two depending on procedures and rules the league won’t announce until there is a new CBA. But if all goes well with the CBA negotiations next week, Bronco fans can pencil in July 28 for the first practice that would be open to the public.

That would give Broncos’ front-office boss John Elway, GM Brian Xanders and Fox only a few days to sign college and veteran free agents _ and to sign their nine draft picks. (The proposed new rookie wage scale will either make it either easier, or more difficult, for No. 2 overall draft pick Von Miller to report on time. Sorry about the hedge, but this will be unchartered territory for player agents and front-office execs.).

And July 28 would give Fox and his coaching staff exactly two weeks to prepare his team for the preseason opener Aug. 11 at The Palace That Jerry Jones Built in Dallas.
