Vikings Now:
No more talk of ratifications and legislature and "close" deals. The lockout is over, and football is upon us.
This week's schedule for the Vikings and the rest of the league is as follows:
*Tuesday: Teams can make trades, sign drafted/undrafted free agents (starting at 9 a.m. CST), negotiation with free agents and host players at their facility for "training, conditioning" and "classroom" work.
*Thursday: Waiver period begins -- Teams can cut players at 3:01 p.m.
*Friday: At 5 p.m., full-blown free agency starts.
Between now and Friday night, the Vikings must craft a quick, decisive blueprint for success that will assess the current roster, fill positional needs and place them under the salary cap line before the league year starts.
