Last week, Daunte Culpeppers hinted that he would like another shot at the NFL and considering all of the teams with questions at quarterback–there’s a good chance it could happen. Now, it looks like Culpepper’s dream may come true after being contacted by the San Francisco 49ers.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Culpper has scheduled a visit and will work out for the 49ers this week with the hope of providing the team more depth at quarterback. Alex Smith signed a one-year deal with the Niners after the lockout and it seemed like 2011 would be his final chance at a starting job since new head coach Jim Harbaugh has a history of developing quarterbacks–that is until the team’s embarrassing 24-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
