The New York Jets close out their draft, barring any other moves, by selecting 'Terminator 2.0' Tommy Bohanon.
If I didn't know any better, I'd think this draft was about getting the run game re-started with the Chris Ivory trade, three offensive linemen, and now a fullback. But more on that at another time.
For his career at Wake Forest, Bohanon recorded 3 rushing touchdowns and 7 receiving touchdowns. He stands out from many fullbacks coming into the league, because he's not a running back making a transition. Bohanon was the hard definition at Wake Forest.
He was one of the top fullbacks in this year's class, and exceled as a blocker at Wake Forest. That'll help in Morhinweg's West Coast Offense, along with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He's 'Terminator 2.0' because this isn't a willy-nilly Rex Ryan selection, as shown on HBO's Hard Knocks. Tommy Bohanon is ready to contribute from Day 1 and compete for Lex Hilliard's spot on the roster.
Bohanon was also invited to the the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine, where he was a top perfomer in the bench press.
Sure, a WR or TE would've been nice, but I actually like this selection. There's a lot more thought process going into this year's picks. Building that foundation to add the "flashy" players on.
