Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace might be absent for the start of training camp, but one wide receiver that is present, and more importantly healthy, is Emmanuel Sanders.
Sanders, who missed a good portion on training camp and the preseason last year due to surgeries on each of his feet, will now fill in as the "X" receiver in the Steelers offense until Wallace decides he wants to sign his tender and get into camp. The extra reps will certainly due the SMU product good. Last year it was Antonio Brown that received the extra reps early on in training camp as Read more [...]

After the false alarm on Tuesday that indicated Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace had signed a five-year, $42 million contract, I received a few emails asking if I thought that total amount stated in that report sounded about right for Wallace, should that wind up indeed being the deal.
The best answer I have to this, that I have tried to get across...
All eyes were on Latrobe today to see if Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace would report by the 4:00 p.m. deadline to sign his one-year tender offer and continue negotiations on a long-term deal. Wallace, pretty much as expected, didn't show and the Steelers, also as expected, were not thrilled with his decision. It is being reported that contract...
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace will not report to camp amid his contract dispute with the team.
Wallace was supposed to move into his dorm room by 3PM at the Steelers training camp in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and take part in conditioning tests.
Wallace was offered a one year, $2.7 million tender from the Steelers. He has not signed it and has not taken part in any...
Both sides seem to be digging in:
Mike Wallace’s speed is his biggest asset. His slowness in reporting to training camp — at least in the Steelers’ minds — is suddenly his biggest liability.
The Steelers did a not-so-slow burn Wednesday when the super-fast Wallace, ignoring the Steelers’ history of refusing to negotiate when a player is not in camp, declined to sign his...
As expected, wide receiver Mike Wallace is absent from the start of training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers as he is yet to sign the lucrative new contract that he covets.
Negotiations have been severed, and Pittsburgh's front office does not intend to resume talks until Wallace reports to camp.
Talks were previously gaining momemtum, but Wallace's absence threw a wrench...
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it looks pretty likely that Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace won’t be reporting to training camp today by the 4:00 p.m. deadline.
While Wallace not reporting today is not totally unexpected, his decision will likely mean...
On the same day that the Steelers signed Antonio Brown to a long term deal, the team confirmed that they would not be giving Mike Wallace a long term contract, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Earlier this week, the two sides broke talks off completely as the Steelers refused to negotiate with him until he reported to camp, which he says he won’t do until he gets his new...
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace decided on his own to hold out.
Wallace’s agent Bus Cook had nothing to do with his decision to hold out from reporting to training camp.
“According to sources, Wallace is driving the bus on this one. It is the wide receiver’s idea to hold out of training camp and, because...
Despite a report we posted earlier today that the Steelers and wide receiver Mike Wallace are close to agreeing on a new contract, it seems like things aren’t going so well.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, both the Steelers and Wallace are “not close” to agreeing on a new long-term contract.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, now that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been rewarded with a contract extension, there’s no way Mike Wallace will get a new long-term contract anytime soon.
The reason Wallace won’t get a new deal now is because the Steelers just paid Brown, which means they don’t have the cap room...
As humidity at the initial training camp practices reaches near-suffocating levels, things in Latrobe just became much stickier.
Wide receiver Mike Wallace has refused to sign his one-year tender as an unrestricted free agent. As training camp neared negotiations for a long-term deal began progressing, but when Wallace failed to report for training camp, the Steelers promptly...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin isn’t happy that his number one receiver, Mike Wallace chose to not report to training camp on Wednesday.
While speaking with the media, Tomlin said that Wallace’s situation is bigger than him.
“Obviously Mike Wallace was not here today,” said Tomlin. ”I don’t know when he’s going to be here. Obviously we have...
It’s training camp for the Steelers and that means, yep you guessed, contract extensions! This is the time of year when the Steelers typically do the majority of their veteran contract work. Whether it’s a brand new deal or an extension for a player soon to enter free agency, from late July through the end of August you typically see several players get new deals.
Such is the...
