PLAYERS: Darrelle Revis
TEAMS: New York Jets

Coming back from the bye, Rex took the opportunity to let his players know that the division title is still a possibility, but only if they make it one by winning Sunday. Many players did not have power at their homes Sunday or were traveling back to New Jersey, so they were unaware the Patriots lost to the Steelers. Ryan let the Jets know about the Patriots’ loss, and that it means his team could be tied for first place this Sunday with a little help from their crosstown rivals. A Jets win in Buffalo and a Patriots loss to the Giants would put the Jets in a three-way tie atop the AFC East with the Bills and Patriots. “It’s right there in front of our face,” cornerback Darrelle Revis said. “That’s all we’ve got to do is go get it as a team. I think that’s the biggest thing. That’s why he let us know. That’s the focus. Win these next couple of games and we’ll be right back where we want to be.” For whatever reason, the Bills always seem to be one of the most crucial games of the year f

Jets Aim to Take Control of the Division

Florham Park, N.J. - With the bye week now behind us, the Jets are set to begin the second half of their season with a chance to claim a share of the division lead. The Jets current 4-3 record has them sitting just one game behind the Patriots and Bills, who just happen to be the Jets next two opponents. If the Jets can win both of these next two games they will find themselves atop...

Jets Sign Campbell to Squad, Move Scotty McKnight to IR

The New York Jets have announced the signing of WR Michael Campbell back to the practice squad after about a week’s absence.  The team placed WR Scotty McKnight on practice squad injured reserve with a torn ACL in his left knee. It will be interesting to see what the team does with Scotty McKnight long-term … do they foresee a Danny Woodhead role for him down the road?  Woodhead...

Jets embraced in hockey-mad Winnipeg

The new-look Jets have been an instant hit in hockey-mad Winnipeg. There are packed crowds, team flags waving from cars and players have their routine errands turned into autograph signings. A month into the season, players were still buzzing over an opening night homecoming scene ripped straight from a playoff game. Amid the buzz, though, the Jets are just 4-6-1 and near the bottom...

The Fifth Down: Should the N.F.L. 'Flex' the Jets Out of a Sunday Night Game?

The Jets face an unusually tough scheduling challenge in a few weeks, playing New England on a Sunday night and then at Denver four days later.

Already gearing up for Jets

It didn’t take long for the Bills to shift their attention to the New York Jets. Less than an hour after their shutout win over the Redskins, George Wilson was already talking about getting ready for their division rival. “This week is huge,” he said. ”We go back into the division for what we call two-fers. By beating a division opponent you essentially go up on them two...

This Jets-Bills Game Is a Rare Treat

When one thinks of the history of the Jets and the Bills, very little good comes to mind. The teams have a habit of playing games that are either an affront to the eyes or one-sided routs much more often than they play anything that would stick out in your mind as a true classic. Recent years have seen Brett Favre outduel J.P. Losman in a mistake-filled 2008 bit of nightmare fuel...

Rex references '64 Bills

Jets coach Rex Ryan went way back today in complimenting the Bills' defensive front, particularly rookie defensive lineman Marcell Dareus. Said Ryan: "Dareus reminds me ... the way he's playing and the way Big Wiggle as I used to call him is playing - Dwan Edwards - they remind me of Ron McDole and Tom Sestak, the No. 70 that used to play in the AFL days." The...
