Bills center Eric Wood has a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season. That grim news was confirmed by the third-year player himself today, who met with the media in the Bills' locker room a day after the team's nightmare 44-7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
"It's definitely not something I wanted to go through again," said Wood, who also missed the final six games of his rookie season in 2009 because of a gruesome fractured leg. "Another long rehab process, but I'll do it and just look to come back stronger next year.
"I know how tough it is. I've been through it. Last season wasn't fun because I was still hurting from the previous year, but I proved to myself I could do it before, and I'll do it again."
Wood was still weighing options on when he would have surgery for the injury, which he suffered near the end of the third quarter after Ryan Fitzpatrick's first interception. He was pursuing the play when he was hit by Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware.
