INDIANAPOLIS — Rod Woodson would still like to coach. The question remains whether or not he would be the right fit for the Bengals. Head coach Marvin Lewis said earlier this week that he would consider Woodson, who he coached at Baltimore, for the opening as secondary coach. Woodson was a coaching intern with the Bengals during training camp in 2010 and was the cornerbacks coach with the Raiders this past season. “Cincinnati is a good, really young team that is playing well. It would be fun,” said Woodson during Sunday’s NFLPA Legends Brunch. “It’s always fun to be with young guys in the secondary. It’s a good nucleus and coaching staff. Marvin has to make a decision of how it would fit in with his coaching staff and players and Mike Zimmer is going to have some say in that. Let’s take a moment to consider the value of free agency before examining the guards. Let’s say the Bengals add a starting-caliber guard and perhaps even a safety and a wideout once free agency begins. Then, the team will enter the draft with no glaring holes (outside of running back), and will be able to [...]

Keeping Their Own

Free agency can be a frustrating time for WhoDey fans because the Bengals are almost never in the hunt for the top free agents every year. They are oriented around re-signing the guys that they have, who know the system, and generally shun the flashy, high-priced names that get most of the attention in free [...]

Cam Newton wins AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award

The Associated Press announced Saturday evening that Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is the 2011 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Newton won in a landslide, receiving 47 of the AP’s 50 votes. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton got the other three. Newton was an easy pick after setting an NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback…
