Found January 03, 2013 on The Penalty Flag:
Brandon Weeden is no RG3, that’s obvious, but instead of perusing a quarterback who lit the NFL on fire the Browns refused to make a move up and selected Trent Richardson. The truth is, Robert Griffin III wouldn’t have saved the Cleveland Browns. Sure, getting a hold of a quarterback like RG3 would have been nice, but did the Browns have the pieces in place to make Griffin a winner? The Browns would have given up three first round picks for RG3 and the Browns already had a number of holes on the team . Griffin was drafted by the Washington Redskins who already had a defense and were merely missing a few offensive pieces. The Browns have a decent defense coming together, but have largely unproven players on the offensive side of the ball.… Read more

Report: Chip Kelly to the Browns

The hottest name on the NFL coaching landscape has reportedly made his decision and for once it looks like Browns fans have something to be happy about.

A new coaching staff could mean a change to a 3-4 defense. Are the Browns ready for that?

While Joe Banner and Jimmy Haslam conduct interviews in Arizona for a new head coach, the one person I’ve been interested to hear from or about is defensive coordinator Dick Jaruon. On Monday, Banner and Haslam made it clear that all coaches were free to interview elsewhere if they wished and that they could be brought back if the new coach wanted them. What we really don’t know...

There is no reason to be talking about anything related to the Cleveland Brown’s right now, right? Wrong. Browns starting wide receiver Greg Little is dating chesty model Devin Brugman. Who is Devin Brugman, you may ask? Take a few minutes to peruse though her Instagram account and you’ll remember this name for a long time. As we were doing our routine scroll through Reddit NSFW...

Browns fans split on Chip Kelly and Bruce Arians as favorite coaching candidate

As the Browns start to interview candidates and whittle down the list, I was curious where Browns fans were on the list of candidates. I posted the question to our Facebook page to let everyone weigh in, and two candidates emerged as the favorites. Some of the comments were interesting too. (I will eave them unattributed because I didn’t tell anyone that their comments would be...

Browns walking the public relations tight rope in coaching hire

When he arrived in Berea back in August, Jimmy Haslam III was quick to point out how aware he was of the fans of the Cleveland Browns; the passion, the pride and, most recently, the frustration all playing key roles in those who are on the buying end of his newly purchased product. What Haslam purchased was a team not as much in need of wins (this part is obvious), but one that is...

What If The Brandon Weeden Doesn’t Fit Into The Browns New Coach’s Scheme Will He Be Gone?

Brandon Weeden finished the  2102 season as one of the worst rookie quarterbacks taken in the 2012 draft. The Browns used their 2nd pick in the draft to take the then 28-year-old Q.B. who turned 29 soon after the season started. It was felt that he needed to be vaulted into the starting quarterback position because of his age. The Browns thought it was now or never for Weeden. Now...

Browns’ exhaustive coaching search is refreshing

It came out this morning that the Browns’ brass interviewed former Arizona Cardinals coach (and former Pittsburgh coordinator) Ken Whisenhunt.
