Found April 27, 2010 on Browns Gab:

The New England Patriots released outside linebacker Adalius Thomas yesterday.  Knowing the Browns need all the help they can get at the linebacker position,  would you be interested in bringing the veteran to Cleveland?  Thomas played with the Ravens and Patriots over the past ten seasons and would add more depth to the Browns linebacking core.  The Browns could use an outside linebacker with the swagger that Thomas has.  Imagine the starting inside linebackers being Jackson and Fujita,  with Thomas and Roth on the outside. The Browns also have many inexperienced, but talented  linebackers, who will contribute this season and give some of the older players a break.  I would consider signing Thomas and bringing him in, knowing that he isn’t going to have to play every down with our depth at the position.  Our linebacking core is much better then in the past but, could be one linebacker away from being a strength to the team next season. I know Thomas is old, but he  could  help us win next year and take some pressure off our younger linebackers.
