Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate admitted earlier this offseason he was a little puzzled by the acquisition of fellow WR Percy Hawkins, but was assured that his role in the offense wouldn’t be reduced by coach Pete Carroll. Tate will now see if those words ring hollow entering the final year of his contract, he won’t worry about contracts until after the season is over. He wants to stay in Seattle where he came into his own in the second half of the 2012 season. Tate should be an integral part of the offense as Harvin will play his natural position as the ‘slot,’ while Tate will play his original position as the number two receiver as the ‘flanker’. He’ll get plenty of opportunities due to the attention Harvin will garner. Tate say he thinks his team could be special for years to come and he hopes he’ll be around to enjoy it. “For me, I’m not treating it any different than any other year,” Tate said, via Josh Alper of Profootballtalk.com. “I’m gonna show up to work, work hard. I’m not worried about any contract talk. I’m just gonna pray on it and hopefully it works out and I’m in Seattle for a long time.”
