Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has been activated for the Giants against the 49ers in a rematch of last season's NFC championship game.
New York listed Nicks as questionable in its injury report this week with soreness in the right foot he broke in the offseason and with swelling in his left knee. He returned to practice Thursday for the first time in two weeks and hasn't played since the second week of the season.
Running back Brandon Jacobs is inactive again for San Francisco. He had hoped to make his 49ers debut against his former team. He has not played since injuring his left knee in preseason.
First-round pick A.J. Jenkins and second-round pick LaMichael James also are inactive for the 49ers. Neither rookie has played this season.

While the Giants were busy preparing for their game against the 49ers last weekend, thieves were busy helping themselves to several players' belongings.
According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com, Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks is traveling with the team to San Francisco.Fantasy Spin:Nicks is still a game-time decision for late Sunday afternoon's game against the 49ers but at least this leaves open the chance that he'll be available. Go ahead and start Nicks, especially if you have one of New York's other receivers on your...
This is a big time rematch between the two NFC Championship game participants from a year ago. As a matter of a fact the Niners and Giants clashed against each other twice last season. The 49ers defense was able to stop Eli Manning from one of his miraculous 4th quarter comebacks in a regular season victory for the Niners . Then as we all remember the slug fest in San Francisco...
Tom Coughlin came into the week proclaiming that no one believed the Giants could beat the 49ers, not giving his team any chance of winning in San Francisco against the team many considered the best in the NFL. Someone forgot to tell Coughlin, his staff and players because the Giants decimated the 49ers in their own house to the tune of a 26-3 whooping. The Giants had not played...

Antrel Rolle and the New York Giants studied Alex Smith so much they practically knew what was coming. But nobody much saw this rout coming in a rematch of January’s tightly-contested NFC Championship Game.
The New York Giants could not possibly beat the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park. It couldn't be done. The 49ers were going to come in hungry, angry and electric after the Giants "stole" their championship season a year ago. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said the game would be over by halftime. 11 of 12 ESPN "experts" picked the 49ers. All NFL Network...
Despite being the defending Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants have managed to fly under the radar most of the season.
In the preseason, they were overshadowed in their own area by Tim Tebow and the quarterback hoopla with the New York Jets.
A nationally televised season-opening loss to the Dallas Cowboys turned off more people, and a nationally televised Sunday night setback...
It wasn’t all great for the the New York Giants over the weekend. While the team was preparing for their best game away in San Francisco, thieves broke into several players cars, stole items from them, and even made off with some of vehicles themselves. According to a report, the burglaries took place sometime early Sunday morning, [...]
