We learned this morning that it was a short stay this week for wide receiver Raymond Webber in Seattle. The Seahawks waived him this week.

Per Adam Caplan on Twitter.

Quote: The #Seahawks waived WR Raymond Webber, who was claimed off waivers earlier this week from the Buccaneers. Quote: Webber technically was claimed off waivers last Thursday (5/3), for those scoring at home-all 2 of you. Quote: The #Seahawks were the only team to put in a waiver claim for Webber last week. This was not a failed physical, so I'm sure we'll find out later in the week what the reason was Webber was cut.

Seahawks’ rookie Winston Guy could be a steal

Despite the fact that the Seattle Seahawks already have two good safeties in Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas, they drafted former Kentucky safety Winston Guy in the sixth round of this year’s draft. Despite being selected in the sixth round, the Seahawks coaches believe Guy can step in right away and serve as their nickel safety. “All those things where we used Atari, this kid...

Seahawks' QB battle gets under way in earnest

The competition for the starting quarterback job officially is underway with the beginning of the team's offseason program. Incumbent Tarvaris Jackson and high-dollar free agent signee Matt Flynn took snaps from under center out on the plush practice fields at the team's headquarters for the first time together recently. And head coach Pete Carroll will get his first...

Robert Turbin to the Seahawks: Fantasy Analysis

The Seahawks landed one of the drafts most impressive power backs in Robert Turbin. Owner of a 4.50 40-time at 222 lbs, Turbin has an impressive power and speed blend especially when considering he paced all running backs with 28 bench press reps at the combine, something usually reserved for smaller backs. Turbin is impressive on film and screams lead back in a committee but that...

Fearless predictions: Seattle Seahawks pro bowlers for the 2012 season

Who’s going bowling? With six players from the Seattle Seahawks being named to last years NFC Pro-Bowl team, I thought I would take a look at who might make the team for this up-coming season. Just a side note. Espn has reported Roger Goodell is “strongly considering” suspending the game in 2013, but NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said “No determination has been made yet.”...

Seattle rookies Wilson, Irvin get 1st day of work

Russell Wilson stepped in behind center for the first minicamp of his professional career on Friday and never left. The Seattle Seahawks are making sure they get a long look at Wilson this weekend while the Seahawks' veteran quarterbacks are not around. Most of the attention during the first day of Seattle's rookie minicamp was centered on Wilson, the talented, but undersized...

Seattle Seahawks quarterback statistics are fun…#15 Matt Flynn

NWSB Insider and Seattle Seahawks blogger Brett Bivens has a few things he has to see from Matt Flynn in 2012 before he projects him for greatness in the blue and green. In Flynn he wants to see a quarterback who is able to read a football field, a guy who can look at a defense before the snap and make pre-snap adjustments. After the snap he wants to see quick reads, and a quick release...

In-Depth: A closer look at Seahawks rookie DT Jaye Howard

Get to know Jaye Howard The Seattle Seahawks wheeled and dealed their way through the 2012 NFL Draft. They started the draft with 6 picks, including no pick in the 5th round. After trading down in the first and second round, they acquired their 4 extra draft picks and were primed to make a run at the later rounds. As we all know, they have found great success in later rounds. Last...

The New Fast And Furious Offseason

The hits just keep on coming this NFL offseason. Free agency started off with a bang, with the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, the Saints and bounty scandal, and the draft. The Seattle Seahawks have already signed nine of their ten draft picks, including first round pick Bruce Irvin, more on him later. What a difference a year makes huh? This time last year we, as fans, weren’t worried...

Friday Northwest Sports Update

Northwest Sports – Seahawks Signing Rookies Up For 2012, Plus An MLS Round-Up If your soccer blog is covering Major League Soccer, it would tell you about an excellent start to the season for two of the three teams from the Northwest, although one is being left behind. But we’ll start in the NFL, where Seattle is trying to get all their housework done before training camp starts...

The Draft Is Over, It's Time to Talk About Something Else

Today, the Seahawks are holding their rookie minicamp, and that means a lot of things.  For one, it means we have an actual offseason to look forward to this year.  Most years that wouldn’t be much of a reason for celebration, but after last season’s protracted lockout during the collective bargaining agreement negotiations I doubt any of us are going to be taking these camps...
