Thoughts and observations on the Braylon Edwards trade: 1. I confirmed the draft-pick compensation: It's a conditional third rounder (could go as high as a 2) and a fifth rounder. In other words, it's very similar to the Kris Jenkins and Lito Sheppard trades. 2. The players were ecstatic with the addition of Edwards. Privately, I had been hearing since the spring how much they wanted another big/fast receiver to pair with Jerricho Cotchery. Players felt there simply wasn't enough firepower to have a balanced offense. 3. WR Chansi Stuckey and ST Jason Trusnik were popular players, and many of their teammates were genuinely sad to see them go. Mark Sanchez, in particular, had become close with Stuckey.
