60 Max Power O:
Mike Wright was one of our favorite players. He played hard and gave it all he had. We forget that they are human and we take for granted in our own lives that at anytime things can go bad. Wright was an example of that since he stepped on the football field as a rookie undrafted free agent in 2005 and signed by the New England Patriots.
A product of the University of Cincinnati, Wright was a walk on who fought his way to the NFL. It’s fair to say nothing was handed to him on the football field and he earned every moment he had out there.
He spent his entire career in New England, so we got see him play often, and any true Patriot fan would always say “ damn Mike Wrights hustles, what a motor”. He would never be mistaken for Jared Allen, but wasn’t a player you took lightly.
BEST OF MAXIM
One of my favorite things about the NFL Combine is the agent meeting that takes place on a yearly basis. They meet inside, reporters wait outside and stalk. And when you see an agent you recognize, you tackle him.
Or something. Anyway, what did we learn?
– Patriots DE Andre Carter is rehabbing ahead of schedule, according to his agent Carl Poston. Carter isn’t quite moving yet...
UConn defensive lineman Kendall Reyes grew up in Nashua, N.H., and it would make sense that the 6-foot-4, 295-pounder was a Patriots fan. That’s what I wanted to know.
But Reyes wasn’t having it. In fact, it was kind of funny. I asked Reyes if he grew up a Patriots fan and he winked
“I’m a fan of the game. Not gonna get me on that one,” he said with a smile. And with that...
WORCESTER, Mass. -- Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was still on crutches Friday night, but he couldn't offer a timetable for how quickly he'll recover from the surgery on his left ankle. Gronkowski, who had surgery two weeks ago, said he'll be ready in time for the 2012 season. However, he wasn't sure when he could ditch the cast and crutches. "It's good...
Rob Gronkowski didn't wish to dance around the subject any longer.
The New England Patriots tight end took some grief after he was seen dancing following the team's Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants - all this with an injured ankle.
"Hard work and dedication, I always put my job first before anything, no matter what it is. I'm always just dedicating myself...
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski defended his work ethic and post-Super Bowl dancing on Friday, the first time he's spoken publicly on the subject since a video of him relaxing after the game went viral earlier this month.
Randy Moss, Vince Wilfork and Kevin Faulk went snorkeling in the Bahamas.
Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome is lauded now for his personnel acumen, but before all this, he was a record-setting tight end at Alabama and with the Browns. So, of course the Hall of Famer is a perfect person to ask about the insane season that Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski had.
When the topic of Gronkowski’s 90-catch, 1,327-yard, 17 TD season was broached, Newsome smiled broadly.
