T.J. Yates looking to overcome two subpar outings when the Texans play the Titans Sunday Rookie QB T.J. Yates was making strides for the Texans before the last two weeks. Now with a game that doesn’t mean all that much looming Sunday against the Titans, the Texans can’t afford for Yates to take it easy as they get set for the postseason. Two weeks ago the Texans lost 28-13 to Cam Newton and Carolina. Last Thursday they allowed Dan Orlovsky and the Colts from putting coal in their stocking as they rallied for a win at Lucas Oil Stadium. Yates, a fifth-round pick thrust into the starting role less than a month ago, went 13 for 16 for 132 yards in Indy. He did not throw an interception, but was sacked four times and lost a fumble. Coach Gary Kubiak says he’s sticking with Yates as his starter even though the Texans signed veterans Jake Delhomme and Jeff Garcia in recent weeks. Neither of the two vets have seen any playing time that means anything. “I think T.J. continues to do some goo...

Texans get good news on Johnson, Phillips

A team that desperately needs as much good news as possible received some Monday at Reliant Stadium. In addition, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips...

Foster, Joseph earn Pro Bowl nods for Texans

For the second consecutive year, Texans running back Arian Foster is a Pro-Bowler. Foster was selected as a back-up, along with cornerback Jonathan Joseph, who will be making his first career trip to the Pro-Bowl. "That just means a lot because I came from a place where, statistically speaking, you're not supposed to make it in this League," said Foster. "Especially...

Why would the Houston Texans play WR Andre Johnson this week?

Reports coming out of the Houston Texans camp on Monday suggest that WR Andre Johnson returned to practice on Monday. With no possibility on improving their playoff seeding, why would the Houston Texans risk injuring the talented wide receiver’s hamstring yet again this season? Andre Johnson has already missed nine games this season with a hamstring injury, the first...

NFL: A Must Win Game For Texans

The Houston Texans have locked up their first playoff berth, a home game in the playoffs, and a division title.  They can not move from the No. 3 seed.  However, this is an absolute must-win game. The Texans are a team that must win on defense and the running game.  That is something that they can do with the second ranked defense and the second ranked rushing attack.  Arian...

Five plays from the 2nd Texans game

Anyone arguing against the Colts signing Robert Mathis need to read Ben Savage's breakdown of the game tape from the Texans game.  Throughout his career Robert Mathis has been a clutch player whose versatility is widely overlooked.  Once again he came up big against the Texans by forcing a fumble and then recovering: Mathis starts off with an inside move, which he uses to...

A Belated Texans-Colts Game Recap

The Colts – Texans recap has been long overdue however I was unable to proceed with my obligations as I have just recently awoken from a Texan Kool-Aid drunken stupor that was topped off with a psychotic episode induced by what I'm referring to as the Dan Orlovsky Disaster.   I missed Christmas Eve, Christmas, all the weekends games, and any family or friends that had wished...
