Andy Reid spoke about the celebration during today's day-after press conference saying "I always tell the guys 'Act like you've been there,'" but Andy added he doesn't mind a little personality and thinks it's good for team.
Eagles Center Jamaal Jackson wasn't as easy on DeSean. From Jeff McClane in the Inquirer:
"There's nothing wrong with a little celebration," the center said, "but once you put your body at risk, that's when you want to take a step back and look at the big picture."
Apparently, LeSean Jackson's body did not respond well to the extraneous tumble. According to Jamaal Jackson, the wide receiver was vomiting on the sideline soon after. DeSean Jackson did not field the next punt and was not on the field for most of the ensuing drive.
"He was hurling," Jamaal Jackson said.
I tend to agree with both Jamaal and Andy. There's nothing wrong with a little celebration that brings some flare to a team that could use it, but when you're doing something that could injure you further, that's just plain stupid.
That must have been a hell of a shot because Jackson didn't appear to feel any pain on that play. DeSean commented on it after the game, "The shot worked out pretty good, eh? I might be addicted to that shot."
As long as he puts up a buck forty-nine every Sunday, dude can take more pain killers than Brett Favre for all I care.
What's your take? You like the panache? Or think DeSean's celebration was boneheaded?
