I don’t know about you. But if you asked me if I wanted to make $10-million, my response would be the same as Kamerion Wimbley’s: where do I sign up?

Not that it comes as any surprise but today word spread that Wimbley has every intention of singing the franchise tag the Raiders placed on him.

Initially, the franchise figure for Wimbley was reported to be worth $10-million. Adam Caplan of Fox has the figure in the $11-million neighborhood.

Whatever the exact amount, Wimbley is getting paid in 2011. That is if things don’t get completely undone by the soon-to-be reworked CBA. But that is for another day.

For today, Wimbley can count his lucky stars. One year ago a lot of haters would have said going from Cleveland to Oakland was a demotion. But as Wimbley has discovered, if you go out there and give it your all on Sunday, chances are Al Davis will reward you.

Congrats, Kamerion! You’ve earned whatever cash is coming your way. Just don’t get too complacent though. As Nnamdi Asomugha has learned, just because you earned the check doesn’t mean you’ll keep the job.
