MVN:
Here is the bottom line on tonights's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Rex Ryan went for two with the team down by one and 49 seconds left tonight versus Baltimore. This is a move that many will question, but I loved. It's pre-season for crying out loud. Why kick an extra point and risk a potential injury with over-time.
Sanchez was 3-8 versus the Ravens defense and Clemens was 5-10. Neither was spectacular and to be honest, both left me wondering if the move for Favre and releasing Pennington made last year has set us back two years at the quarterback position. All in all, I expect next week to be the game that ultimately decides who will win the starting job. When Sanchez was able to release off to Leon Washington underneath, it showed me a glimpse of what this teams' strength is.
The defense was solid, there were some turnovers and I expect Rex to cut people tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest, based on tonights performance. The team looks good overall and I expect a winning season from the team if no one else does. They play with a certain moxy that you rarely see in the league these days.
I hope to write again with further in depth analysis of the game after pulling a Warner Wolf.
