Vince Young's NFL comeback is looking less like a pipe dream today, thanks to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Young -- the former Pro Bowl quarterback who got crossways with the Tennessee Titans and was cut from the Buffalo Bills during training camp last year -- worked out Thursday for the Oakland Raiders alongside Ravens backup Troy Smith. "Heard Vince looked good," Rapoport said. Young's unusual blend of size, speed, strength and grace made him the Titans' first-round pick in 2006. The Titans were making a bet that Young's equally unusual throwing motion would not prevent him from being an effective passer in the NFL. Though it might still be too early to make a judgment on that, Young's first five NFL seasons were not a good sign. He has five more interceptions than touchdown passes and has never thrown for more than 2,600 yards in a season. He has completed 58 percent of his passes. Young last played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, playing in six games and starting half of them. He threw for 866 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions. After he was cut from the the Bills, most assumed Young's NFL career was over, his reputation in shreds because of his issues with the Titans, and a team as bad as the Bills actually passing on his services. But he worked out at Texas' campus in Austin last month, and that went well enough the Raiders invited Young to try out against Smith.

Q&A about Alan Branch from both a Cards and Hawks writer

Yeah, I don't know much about Alan Branch. I've heard all the stuff about how he fits the hybrid defense and adds a lot of depth. I could try and lie and pretend to know who this guy is, but I don't play that way. Instead, I decided to ask someone who has covered him to find out what the deal is with him. I decided to reach out to Matthew over at Seahawks Addict and Tyler...
