It’s a shame that the Jets and Jaguars already had their meeting this season, because right now would have been perfect for maximized levels of abject derpitude. Granted, there’s no Mark Sanchez starting because he already ensured he’ll be a backup somewhere else next season with a five-turnover performance last Monday night that bounced New York from marginal playoff contention. That said, these are two teams at rock bottom and yet still reeling. It would be both horrifying and delightful to see them go at it now. As for the Jaguars: like many teams, they’ve embraced the use of iPads for storing playbooks. Unfortunately, the Jaguars forgot that once a player is no longer on the team that they should wipe the memory of that player’s iPad so he, y’know, doesn’t sign with another team and hand over the Jaguars playbook. Even though once Maurice Jones-Drew went down, all the “hand it to MJD and hope for the best” plays were nixed. The Jags are a mess. They put their playbooks on som...

Mark Sanchez jerseys have apparently hit the clearance rack (Picture)

Was Sunday the official start of the Greg McElroy era in New York? Chances are the New York Jets will pursue another option at starting quarterback when the offseason begins, which means there is also a good chance Mark Sanchez may have taken his last snap with the team. Otherwise, it would probably cost you more than $10 for his Jets jersey. As you can see from the photo above...

Mark Sanchez Says Jets Are ‘All I’ve Known,’ Won’t Contemplate Future Beyond Season

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Mark Sanchez knows he won’t be the New York Jets’ starting quarterback this week. Beyond that, the one-time face of the franchise won’t say whether he thinks he’ll be back with the team next season. “I really haven’t even thought about it,” Sanchez said Friday. “Honestly, I’m a Jet. That’s all I’ve known.” Sanchez struggled mightily...

Report: Jets don’t have any viable options to trade Sanchez & Tebow

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, there’s virtually no trade market for either TIm Tebow and Mark Sanchez.  If the Jets want to get rid of either player, they’re likely going to have to release them. When Sanchez restructured his contract last year to provide cap relief to the team, the new contract language effectively tied the struggling passer to New York through...

Report: Mark Sanchez will back up Greg McElroy

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, quarterback Mark Sanchez is expected to back up Greg McElroy during Sunday’s game against the Chargers. With Sanchez being benched this week, many people wondered if Tim Tebow would back up McElroy since he’s been the Jets’ second string quarterback throughout the regular season. Now with the report that Sanchez will back...

Norwegian kicker earns tryout with Jets after posting YouTube video

The New York Jets have a raging quarterback controversy on their hands. They have been juggling the trio of Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, and Tim Tebow all year long. However, they also seem to be concerned about their kicking game as well.Seen here is a Norwegian kicker named Havard Rugland doing some pretty amazing things with a pigskin. So amazing in fact that someone from the Jets...

Report: Tebow to Jags a “virtual certainty”

NFL sources said it’s a “virtual certainty” that New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow will land a job with the Jacksonville Jaguars next season. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Jets will probably honor Tebow’s forthcoming request to be released after this season and become an unrestricted free agent. Mortensen reports that the Jags want Tebow.

Greg McElroy No Better Off Than Mark Sanchez If Jets’ Offensive Line Can’t Keep Him Standing

Much has been made about the Jets’ quarterback carousel over the past few weeks, but no amount of change under center will matter unless something changes along that offensive line. Rex Ryan finally made the move away from Mark Sanchez last week, after a five-turnover debacle all but ended his stay in New York. The Jets decided to instead go with second-year quarterback Greg McElroy...

And Now, It’s The 2012 New York Jets Season Set To ‘Yakety Sax’

The 2012 NFL season began with the New York Jets as the center of attention because of backup quarterback Tim Tebow, and it has ended with the Jets still as the center of attention because of starting QB Mark Sanchez. At 6-8, it’s fair to say that the Jets haven’t had the season that they typically expect, as we’ve come to love those arrogant moments in the offseason when coach...

NFL Rumors: Report Suggests New York Jets to Fire OC Tony Sparano

After reports suggested last week that the New York Jets are likely to trade quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow this offseason, the house cleaning is reportedly not going to stop with the quarterback position. CBS Sports reporter Jason LaCanfora is speculating that the Jets organization is going to part ways with offensive coordinator Tony Sparano on what is known as Black Monday...

New York Jets Blooper Reel

New York Jets Season wrapped up in 4 minutes The entire season for the New York Jets has been nothing more than an blooper reel, but here is their embarrassing season compacted into a four minute video.  This video has everything from Mark Sanchez’s classic butt fumble to Santonio Holmes giving the 49ers an early [...]

NY Jets a team only Benny Hill could love

((ht: bob's blitz)) Okay, this is pretty funny. And yes, we are suckers for anything with the Benny Hill theme involved (we've mentioned this before) Check out this video that someone with lots of time on their hands made of ESPN's favorite NFL team, the Ultra-Pathetic New York Jets. Laugh along at such plays as "The Butt-Fumble" and "Mark Sanchez...

Tim Tebow Asked Coaches Not To Be In Wildcat Packages

With Mark Sanchez struggling greatly, the New York Jets surpassed Tim Tebow in favor of Greg McElroy against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Tebow was still active, but the Jets lost 27-17, with many still wondering why he has yet to get a chance. He was brought into town to be used in Wildcat packages to take advantage of his unique skill set as well as serve as the backup quarterback...

New York Jets – No Half Measures

Jason La Confora is reporting the New York Jets are starting the process of acquiring a new General Manager. Good news, right? Wrong. Woody Johnson apparently wants the new GM to work with Mike Tannenbaum who will be demoted to a salary cap management type position. Not surprisingly, no credible candidates are interested in such a foolish arrangement. I love writing and sometimes...
