Tom Brady is moving forward this season, his 14th with the New England Patriots, treating it not much different from others. He is putting in the hardwork, with the same drive and determination that has made him one of the all-time greats at his position. But this year will have a slightly different look than the previous five, as his favorite target, Wes Welker, is now catching passes out in Denver. But don’t expect to get Brady to look back and shed any tears on the change. Brady spoke with WEEI about all the new pieces and the loss of a player like Welker, and Brady said he wasn’t really caught off-guard by what happened: “I don’t think anything surprises me any more in the NFL,” he said. “I’ve been around long enough to see things happen at different times with the greatest players of all, whether that’s Wes, or Randy Moss being traded from the Raiders, or Brett Favre playing for the Jets and the Vikings.
