Zac Robinson praises Falcons draft picks, specifically Bijan Robinson
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Raheem Morris’ Falcons staff is about as close to being complete as one could be, and we just got our first taste of the two new coordinators as well as another familiar face.

Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake, and special teams coordinator Marquice Williams spoke with Atlanta media on Wednesday, leaving us with plenty to talk about.

Where better to start than the best thing the Falcons have to offer — Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts.

Zac Robinson praised Atlanta’s draft picks, selecting the “right people” but specifically Robinson, “Seeing him play in person, up close, this guy is unbelievable.”

The hope is the former Rams quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator can unlock Atlanta’s offensive potential.

Spending three straight top 10 picks on skill players was met with some criticism when the Falcons never really had the quarterback position figured out. That will certainly be the focal point of the offseason, finding a new signal caller, but whoever is under center will have plenty of weapons.

Zac Robinson hails from the Kyle Shanahan-Sean McVay offensive scheme, giving us plenty of examples of who Pitts, London, and Robinson can be.

Obviously, these aren’t direct play-style comparisons but rather hypothetical production comparisons. George Kittle and Tyler Higbee have been two of the most productive tight ends in recent years, providing hope that Pitts can return to his rookie level of play.

Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Bradno Ayiuk, and countless other receivers should make London salivate at the possibility of being the featured pass catcher in Robinson’s offense.

However, I’d argue nobody stands to benefit from Zac Robinson coming to Atlanta than the Falcons 2023 8th overall pick, Bijan Robinson. The Texas product showed on occasion how special of a talent he could be but never got to the level many expected.

The expectation now is that Robinson will help his second-year running back realize his full potential.
