When Zach Thomas ripped his former organization last month for the way it handled his brother-in-law Jason Taylor, it appeared the gap between the Miami Dolphins and one of their greatest defensive players would never be bridged.
Now, however, it looks like the Dolphins are going to do the right thing.
The team has called a 4 p.m. news conference today to sign Thomas to a one-day contract so that he may retire as a Dolphin.
After spending 12 seasons (1996-2007) as the heartbeat of the Dolphins’ defense, this only seems right. Here’s hoping the Dolphins take the next step and retire his number 54 and put his name on the Honor Roll at Sun Life Stadium.
