The prospects of Mike Zimmer returning for a fifth season as the Bengals defensive coordinator became more muddled on Friday. With Jeff Fisher accepting the Rams opening over the Dolphins, Zimmer has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Miami opening. Zimmer interviewed for the opening on Tuesday and Wednesday and is one of five who have interviewed. According to multiple reports, Tampa Bay has also received permission to speak to Zimmer and Carolina offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski. Houston defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was expected to speak with the Bucs Friday but withdrew from consideration.
