PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers tend to stay out of any major headlines in the NFL, especially when it comes to negative press about their ownership team.
A collusion grievance filed by the NFLPA was dismissed earlier this year due to the lack of evidence that NFL teams actually follow the league's advice to avoid fully-guaranteed contracts.
NFL Players Association president JC Tretter suggested without directly saying running backs should consider faking injuries for contract-related reasons.
The wristband debacle is just the latest in a constant battle between the NFL and its players with regard to players getting vaccinated, even though the vaccination rate across the league has increased significantly.
Tretter said the coronavirus won't "kneel down to almighty football" and that players will need assurances they and their loved ones can remain as safe as possible if they begin the 2020 season on time this September.
