JEFF GEORGE RUMORS & GOSSIP

Jeff George, Jr. commits to Illinois

On Tuesday night, the Illinois Illini got a commitment from 2-star quarterback Jeff George, Jr. George is the son of former Illinois quarterback Jeff George. George had a fantastic career at Illinois and was the top overall pick in the 1990 draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Of course, George’s career didn’t go the way many thought or hoped, but that is a different story.

Jay Cutler won’t become this generation’s Jeff George

There’s an idea floating amongst the NFL Punditocracy that Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler could be this generation’s answer to Jeff George. It’s an interesting comparison, as Jeff George was signed by the Bears in 2004; but never took the field. He’s also a local Midwest guy- drafted #1 overall by his hometown Indianapolis Colts in 1990 out of Illinois. Jeff George had a distinguished...

Jeff George is Now Christian Ponder's Teacher

This week is one of the Minnesota Vikings Organized Team Activities, or OTA's, or I don't know what they're doing. I haven't been paying attention. I've been far too busy remembering that Purple Jesus is a god. But apparently things aren't going too hot for Christian Ponder. He threw three ugly interceptions during a practice round yesterday (Same with new...

Illinois football: Wes Lunt visited Illini on Thursday

While there is no official word how Wes Lunt‘s visit to Champaign was on Thursday, it is known that Jeff George had a conversation with the young quarterback. This could be a good thing for Illinois fans. — Jeremy Rauch (@JeremyARauch) June 6, 2013 Lunt is expected to choose between...

Vikings Hire Interesting New Mentor for Christian Ponder--Jeff George?

The Minnesota Vikings are primed to become the next dominant team until free agency tears them apart. They have arguably the best running back in the NFL in Adrian Peterson and a talented young receiving duo in Greg Jennings and Cordarrelle Patterson. However, in order to ascend to the elite in the NFL hierarchy they need one thing--for quarterback Christian Ponder to step his game...

Jeff George Is Totally Gonna Fix Everything That’s Wrong With Christian Ponder

The Vikings are one of several teams in the league that might be a contender if not for the fact that their quarterback sucks. Okay, perhaps that’s a little unfair. Christian Ponder is capable of being a good quarterback once every five games or so. Remember that Week 17 win against the Packers to get Minnesota into the playoffs? He was downright competent! The problem is, the...

Holler: Jeff George stay a puzzling decision

The Vikings brought in Jeff George as a “guest coach” to help their quarterbacks, but before George was a Vikings player he was considered a man with an attitude. That changed during his stay in Minnesota.

Jeff George present at Vikings OTAs as 'guest coach'

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Jeff George has been a name that has tantalized Minnesota Vikings' fans since his 12-game run with the team back in 1999. George, the 12-year NFL quarterback and former first-overall pick in the 1990 draft, was back on the field for Minnesota this week. But hold off on any thought the 45-year-old is challenging for Christian Ponder's starting spot. George...
