The depleted Chicago Bears traveled to Gillette Stadium Sunday and were dominated by the New England Patriots falling 51-23 and dropping to 3-5 in the standings.
The Bears struggled from the opening kickoff surrendering points on every Patriots offensive drive except for a third quarter drive that resulted in a punt.
Now I understand that this Bears defense has been plagued by injuries...
Shea McClellin has gotten a lot of criticism in Chicago since being selected #19 overall in 2012, but this could be the worst thing said yet.

Injuries were what killed the Chicago Bears defense in 2013. They have hit hard again in 2014, but some good news came in for once on linebacker Shea McClellin.
Marc Trestman Expects Him Back In A Couple Weeks
As it stands McClellin was quickly declared out for the pivotal contest on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. It’s a tough loss. Chicago was just starting to see...
Roster competition is the bloodline of the new Chicago Bears mantra, and one may be getting a reboot between Jon Bostic and Shea McClellin.
By the end of the preseason the defensive roster was set. McClellin had rightfully earned his chance to start at strong side linebacker. His ability in to rush the passer along with speed and athleticism made it a much better fit for him...
Chicago Bears signed ILB Darryl Sharpton because Shea McClellin still is not 100 percent. Sharpton was released by Washington with an injury settlement earlier this week and will provide veteran depth. Sharpton has been around the league and was most productive with the Houston Texans. The sun shines a little brighter this year on Halas Hall during a cold Chicago winter. This time last year, GM Phil Emery had just selected his successor to Lovie Smith and there were many doubts whether the guy from Canada could get the job done. First time NFL coach Marc Trestman silenced many of those doubters during the 2013 campaign. Even with his team going a mediocre 8-8,...

McClellin has never had success as a pass-rusher and the Bears are hopeful that he could transform into a Bruce Irvin type linebacker.
In two seasons since being drafted the 24-year-old McClellin has 6.5 sacks and 44 tackles.
