25) What should the Sabres 2nd line be? Stafford-Ennis-Foligno This was the Sabres best line down the stretch last year. It is a jack of all trades kind of line. There's the physicality of Foligino, the playmaking ability of Ennis, and the size and skill of Stafford. In the trio's last 13 games, Stafford had 17 points, Marcus Foligno had 13 points, and Tyler Ennis had 18 points. Lindy pretty much already said this will be the 2nd line, even though we all know it might only last until the 2nd period of the opener (old joke). However, I hope he sticks with this line for a while. I will say, the thought of putting Foligno with Ott and Kaleta makes for an enticing banger line (that's what she said), but if it wasn't broke last year with the trio, then don't fix it. 24) Who is the most important player on the Sabres? Ryan Miller Something tells me I've written this probably the last 5 years or so. The answer will always been the same until another Sa...

Grigorenko seeks more permanent role with Sabres

So long as center Mikhail Grigorenko remains on the Buffalo Sabres roster, it doesn't matter where the top prospect is forced to sit in the team's fancy, wood-paneled locker room. For now, that spot is off in the corner, near the fridge and whiteboard, where Grigorenko's No. 25 nameplate is perched precariously on a narrow ledge. It's a makeshift ''stall...

What are the expectations for Grigorenko?

When Mikhail Grigorenko was the first Russian player the Buffalo Sabres drafted since Vyacheslav Buravchikov in the 5th round of the 2005 Entry Draft, the hype machine was started on whether Grigorenko was the answer to all of the Sabres' questions. That hype machine has been consistently primed for the start of the season and has come to a head with just a few days left before...

Tyler Myers’ Summer With An All-Star

From Paul Hamilton of WGR SportsRadio 550, There are many things that have to fall into place if the Sabres are to contend. One of the biggest things this team needs is for Tyler Myers to not only be this team’s best defenseman, but one of the best defensemen in the NHL. 30 questions about the Buffalo Sabres: 30-26

30) Will the Sabres make the playoffs? YES This will sound like a broken Jerry Sullivan record, but the goal isn't to just make the playoffs, right? Pegula stated repeatedly that the goal is to win the Cup for the rest of the team's eternity.  Also, making the playoffs shouldn't be greeted with a giant "YAAAAAY!" That said, that's where I see the Sabres...

Marcus Foligno Happy To Experience A Different Role

Before the 2011-2012 season, Marcus Foligno was just like every other prospect at Sabres training camp, he was looking to make a good enough impression so that, if he didn’t make the team, he would be one of the first players the team called up when injuries hit. In just under a year-and-a-half’s time, Foligno’s [...]The post Marcus Foligno Happy To Experience A Different Role...
