Player of the Season: Tavares led the team with a 28-19–47 stat line including 16 points on the power play (9G, 7A) that got him nominated for the NHL MVP honors and rightly so.
Breakout of the Season: Josh Bailey put out a season of 11-8–19 with a career-best +7 rating. Bailey should get over the 40-point barrier next season. A 50-point campaign isn’t out of the question if he gets more time on the power play.
Disappointment of the Season: The Islanders outperformed everyone’s expectation so there isn’t much of anyone who can be singled out as a disappointment.
