The 2013 San Jose Sharks season could have sponsored by Windex. Nothing was more streaky than the Sharks were. Take a look back and see where the fantasy value was on this roller-coaster team. Team Name: San Jose Sharks Record: 25-16-7, 3rd in Pacific, Lost 4-3 to Los Angeles in Western Conference Semifinals Player of the Season: Logan Couture was the most consistent player over the course of the season. He led the team with 21 goals and finished second with 37 points and only four penalty minutes for the whole 48-game season. Breakout of the Season: Goaltender Antti Niemi put forth the best numbers of his career in this shortened season. He posted his best goals against average (2.16) and save percentage with a .924 mark in 43 starts. Had it been a full season, he likely would have topped his 35-win performance from two years ago. Niemi looks to be a solid #1 goaltender going into the 2013-2014 fantasy season. Disappointment of the Season: Ryan Clowe went 28 games without a goal, piled up the penalty minutes and then got shipped to the Rangers. Where he promptly put up three goals and five assists in 12 games with New York. Team Analysis: San Jose started out on fire winning its first seven games. Then they went through a seven-game winless streak (0-4-3). They were a streaky team to say the least. San Jose lost six of seven in March then ended the month by starting a seven-game win streak that lasted into early April. 2013-2014 Story Lines: Which team will show up next season? The one that throttled Vancouver in four games or the one that couldn’t seemingly win on the road when it mattered? 2013-2014 Fantasy Guys to Have: Niemi, Couture, Joe Thornton (7-33–40; 21 PP points), Joe Pavelski, Brent Burns, Dan Boyle, Patrick Marleau Guys On the Fringe: Martin Havlat (recovering from groin surgery)   PLAYER GP G A PTS +/- PIM ATOI PPG PPA SHG SHA SOG SPCT Joe Thornton, C 48 7 33 40 6 26 18:23 2 19 0 0 85 8.2 Logan Couture, C 48 21 16 37 7 4 18:06 7 5 0 1 151 13.9 Patrick Marleau, C 48 17 14 31 -2 24 19:07 6 8 1 0 150 11.3 Joe Pavelski, C 48 16 15 31 2 10 18:55 5 6 0 1 130 12.3 Brent Burns, D 30 9 11 20 0 20 16:17 2 1 0 0 81 11.1 Dan Boyle, D 46 7 13 20 3 27 22:48 5 8 0 1 97 7.2 Martin Havlat, LW 40 8 10 18 7 30 15:51 1 3 0 0 89 9.0 Scott Gomez, C 39 2 13 15 -10 22 13:32 0 8 0 0 58 3.4 T.J.
