The Carolina Hurricanes are parting ways with the player who scored the goal that won them the Stanley Cup in 2006. The Hurricanes said Tuesday they have bought out the remaining year on the contract of defenseman Frantisek Kaberle, who would have made $2.2 million. Kaberle will now collect almost $1.5 million over the next two seasons. The 35-year-old Kaberle had the winning goal in Game 7 of the Cup finals against Edmonton in 2006.
