Jesus ******* Christ. You know, it's easy to tell people it's not time to panic when your team is currently in first place in their division and second place in the Eastern Conference, but when you see a game like last night it's hard to justify why not to panic. The Bruins are hockey's equivalent to Sybil. They'll play an amazing game of hockey one night and the next they'll look like they've never played the game before in their life. Last night's game was somewhere in the middle of those ranges. The Bruins didn't play a terrible game, in fact, you can argue that they controlled most of the play. The problem is that their shots didn't go through (42 shots, 0 goals), luck wasn't on their side (McDonagh's goal off of Chara) and they just didn't seem focused. You have to give the Rangers a lot of credit. They're in the Bruins heads at this point, they have to be. Henrik Lundqvist is stopping everything that comes his way. It'...

Video: Habs fans cheer after Chara is hit by puck

How far is too far? Hockey fans cheer for big hits and fights. When two guys drop the gloves, they want the guy on their team to rearrange the other guy’s face. It’s worse with rivals. Fan bases can develop an unbelievable hatred for one another, and no two groups of fans are a better example of that than the Bruins and Canadiens. That being said, is cheering when a rival...

Montreal Canadien fans cheer as Bruins Zdeno Chara hit in face with puck (Video)

At the end of the first period of Wednesday night's NHL game in Montreal, Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara was hit in the face with a puck by a clearance attempt by Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec. Unfortunately, the Montreal fans in attendance did not seem to be concerned, as they were cheering while Chara was laying down on the ice. Chara did return to the game...

Goalies deserve fair consideration in Hart voting

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist is carrying the Original Six franchise to its best regular season in team history. He has undoubtedly been the team’s MVP since the beginning of the season, posting career-best numbers through mid-February. Should he (and other goalies) be included in the Hart Trophy race? Goaltenders already have their own award, but that should not...

Jan Levine: Game 55: NYR 3 BOS 0, All Hank All the Time

One might look at the final score and think the Rangers played well last night. They would be wrong. After the first period, the team went into that "we have a lead and we can sit back on it because we have Hank" style of play and almost got burned. Henrik Lundqvist was the main - and possibly only reason - why the Rangers won last night. Yes, I know Cally scored on what...

Jonathan Ragus and Christopher Decker are BACK with an all new episode of “Ranger Nation Radio”. Christopher is new to the Ranger Nation Radio team but just like his content, he kicked total a**! Jonathan and Chris spoke about the state of the current New York Rangers roster as well as Henrik Lundqvist, John Tortorella, [...]

Ty Anderson: Slumping B's look to put another nail in Montreal's coffin

The Boston Bruins, losers in five of their last eight with a six-in-nine potentially awaiting them in a match-up with the rivaled Canadiens set for later tonight, canceled their morning skate today in Montreal. That undoubtedly make senses given the Bruins’ hard-fought loss last night in Boston, a 3-0 shutout against Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers despite peppering...

Ice dam

The goal horn had sounded. The red light had flashed behind Henrik Lundqvist. The Bruins, off a point shot by Dennis Seidenberg, seemingly had made it a 3-1 game at 10:01 of the third period.
