Oh no, the dreaded matinee game. Even worse, a dreaded matinee away game. The Bruins travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets, marking Boston's first away game of the season. Unfortunately, these aren't the Jackets of a few years ago. This team looks to be legit and that pisses me off because I don't want Columbus to be legit.  It's not like I hate Columbus or anything, but they are trying WAY too hard to be a hockey market and it comes off forced. First was that whole 'Lumbus ******** from last year - like typing COlumbus is so ******* hard. It's not, but this team and it's ****** social media marketing has to try and make #Lumbus a thing. LUMBUS ISN'T A THING, LUMBUS SHOULD NEVER BE A THING. Stop it. That's like hipster style, lazy *******.  Next is the cannon. Oh the cannon. How I ******* hate that ******* cannon. If you've never experienced the cannon for some reason - here it is:  Seemingly these dickbags shoot the ...

Boston Bruins: No breaks in beantown

Roy will get a firsthand look at Bergeron on Thursday night when the Bruins host Roy’s Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden. The new Avs coach has plenty of admiration for what Bergeron does not only as a player, but the way he carries himself...

Boston Bruins: First Two Weeks By The Numbers

The first two weeks (or almost two weeks) of the new NHL season saw the Bruins play three games at TD Garden and get out to a 2-0-0 start against the Lightning and Red Wings before dropping game No. 3 to Patrick Roy’s Avalanche team that certainly appears to be for real. Now’s your chance to take a look at all the subtle stats you probably missed while watching the games on TV...

On Saturday, the team scored exactly three, and goaltender Tuukka Rask said that the...

Boston Bruins Projected Lineup vs Colorado Avalanche

The Boston Bruins take on the Colorado Avalanche at the TD Garden Thursday night in the first of two games this season. It’s been exactly two years to the day since the Avalanche handed the Bruins a 1-0 loss in Boston and the B’s are winless in their last seven meetings vs. Colorado on home ice, at 0-5-1-1. It’s Boston’s longest such streak vs. any NHL opponent. But like...

Avs shut out Bruins to stay perfect

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 39 saves in his 37th NHL shutout, and the Colorado Avalanche stayed perfect with a 2-0 victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. Giguere, making his first start of the season, made several sparkling...

Glen Miller: Gaborik Leads Charge Against Sabres; Boston Up Next

Columbus knew going into the season that Marian Gaborik, by far their most dangerous offensive weapon, was going to have to be at the top of his game if their offensive attack was going to get better. So far so good as Gabby tallied three points, one goal and two assists in the Jackets 4 - 1 win over Buffalo Thursday. Just three games into the new campaign and Gaborik already has...

Avs remind Boychuk of trade that changed life

The Colorado Avalanche came to town on Thursday night and that occasion always makes Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk thankful. It didn’t have a happy ending for the Black and Gold as they dropped a 2-0 game to the Avs on the strength of a 39-save performance from the ageless Jean-Sebastien Giguere but the Colorado/Boston story has crafted a happy ending for Boychuk. The 29-year...

Blue Jackets Feast on Buffalo, 4-1

This time there was no rust. The Blue Jackets well-rested after a four-day break between games scored three times in the first period and overwhelmed the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 last night in the First Niagara Center. The Jackets looked nothing like the team that exited an eight-day break between their final exhibition and their season opener by playing a step behind the Calgary Flames...
