There is one constant when it comes to any hockey player who plays at the highest level, they all sweat, and bleed for the right to lift Lord Stanley’s Cup. It is something that even the ones who aren’t fortunate enough to play in the NHL dream of, even though it is not a possibility. For years, Jarome Iginla has been one of the game’s premiere power forward. He has built a resume that will land him in the Hall of Fame in the first year he is eligible, but one thing eludes him. The very thing that most players would give up every single personal accomplishment to be able to call themselves – Stanley Cup Champion. Iginla nearly won it in 2004 when his Calgary Flames lost to the Tampa Bay Lighting in seven games and since then he saw his Flames take a steady decline to the basement of the Western Conference. Still thirsty to get his name on the Cup, Iglina left the only hockey home he had ever known for the Pittsburgh Penguins, agreeing to waive his no-trade clause for a chance to win the Cup. After falling short at the Eastern Conference Finals, Iglina decided to pull a Marian Hossa-type move and sign with the team that defeated his former team in the playoffs and sign with the Boston Bruins. Iginla will fill the hole left by Nathan Horton’s departure to Columbus and look to provide the Bruins with that missing piece to get them back to the Stanley Cup Final – only to win it this time around. Does the addition of Iginla make the Bruins the favorite to make it back to the Cup Final? And if the Bruins do fall short, what then for ‘Iggy’? Will he call it quits on his Hall of Fame career and ride off into the sunset? Or is that fire burning enough to take a few more cracks at winning the one thing that has eluded him his entire career? Another Former Penguins In Last Go-Around? Unlike Iginla, the 41-year old winger from the Czech Republic, Jaromir Jagr, has already captured hockey’s highest honor – twice as a matter of fact. He won the Cup back-to-back years with the Penguins in 1991 and ‘92, and like Iginla, Jagr has plenty of the personal achievements to ensure his enshrinement into the Hockey Hall of Fame but Jagr still continues to play the sports. After splitting last season with the Dallas Stars and the Boston Bruins, Jagr finds himself in New Jersey, playing for the Devils on an one-year deal. Jagr struggled to find many offers for him to stay in North America, so if he does not play well with the Devils, he may be forced to at least give up hockey in the NHL and if he wishes to continue his career, do so in Europe. Jagr at his prime, was one of the most dominant players to play the game, but will be mostly remembered as Mario Lemieux’s sidekick as well as his exit out of Pittsburgh. If this is the last year for both of these player’s, you can pencil in two slots when they become Hall of Fame eligible. Jarome Iginla Uncorks Wild, Eye-Opening Slap Shot at Bruins Practice (Video)

Jarome Iginla has a good shot that usually hits the net. When he misses, however, it could make for a pretty hair-raising experience for those behind the glass. The Bruins forward got some extra work in on his one-timers Friday in Saskatoon in advance of the Bruins’ preseason finale against the Winnipeg Jets, and he was letting them go. That ended up producing some pretty awesome...

B’s Beat: Watch Bruins Winger Jarome Iginla Hit You In The Face With A Puck (VIDEO)

Bruins fans have had a hot-cold-hot relationship with Jarome Iginla since last spring. But all is water under the Zamboni now right? Well maybe not for Iggy. Perhaps his attempts to scare the living sh*t of NESN’s Jamie Erdahl is his way to release some stress from the last six months. Bruins fans sitting behind the glass beware of Iggy’s sidewinder missile shots coming your...

Zdeno Chara teaches fundamentals of his powerful slap shot

Zdeno Chara holds the record for the NHL’s fastest slap shot. Chara set the record of 108.8 mph at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game SuperSkills competiion, breaking his previously held record. While maybe not 108 mph, Chara often lets the slap shot loose in game action, sending defenders flying out of the way in every which direction. So, who better to demonstrate the principles of...

Patrice Bergeron Explains, Demonstrates His Approach When Taking Faceoffs (Video)

Patrice Bergeron is one of the NHL’s best centers. He isn’t the scoring machine like some other centers, but he does excel in other areas — namely on faceoffs. Bergeron led the league in faceoff win percentage last season, further demonstrating his skill on the dot. He seems to use a mixture of size, strength and speed to win each puck drop, which is a rare combination of skills...

Ryan Spooner and Niklas Svedberg did all they could to make the Bruins’ opening night roster. In the end, however, those performances weren’t enough to overcome some tricky roster issues. Spooner and Svedberg are headed back to Providence, the club announced Saturday morning. Also being sent back to Providence are Matt Fraser and Matt Lindblad. The moves leave the Bruins with...

Bruins Waive Nick Johnson After Impressive Preseason From Veteran Forward

Nick Johnson opened more eyes than anyone else at Bruins training camp and into the preseason schedule, but that wasn’t enough for the veteran forward to make the big club. Johnson was placed on waivers Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins reduced their roster to 23 players in advance of their season opener on Thursday against Tampa Bay. The Bruins made the move with the intention of...

Boston Bruin Front Office start to make roster cuts

The hardest part about sports of any kind is making cuts because these players put everything they have into making the team. The day after the Bruins finished their pre-season play with a 5-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets, the front office started to make their tough decisions. This morning, GM Peter Chiarelli announced that forwards Matt Fraser, Ryan Spooner and Matt Lindblad have...

Cam Neely, Milan Lucic Say They Have Not Signed on for ‘Dumb and Dumber’ Sequel

A pair of web sites reported earlier this week that Cam Neely will be reprising his role as Sea Bass in the long-awaited Dumb and Dumber sequel set to hit theaters next year. That announcement appears to have been premature. Neely reportedly told CSNNE.com’s Joe Haggerty on Friday that while he would love to don the trucker hat again, no specific arrangements with the producers...

Ty Anderson: Dazed and Somewhat Confused

Well, that didn’t take long. The season hasn’t even started yet and I’m already confused by general manager Peter Chiarelli and the Boston Bruins. Maybe it’s a new autumn tradition, like pumpkin coffee, muffins, beer, and literally anything else you think up. Or maybe it’s absolutely infuriating if you’ve watched the preseason and/or followed this...
