In classic Brian Leetch fashion, the man who played 16 seasons in New York and helped deliver the Rangers' first Stanley Cup championship in 54 years, chose his own ceremony to publicize the Rangers organization's decision to honor one of his former teammates, No. 9 Adam Graves. The stunning announcement that Graves will join Leetch, Mark Messier, Mike Richter, Ed Giacomin and Rod Gilbert in The Garden rafters next season was one of many highlights on Thursday ? an evening that will live in the memory of all who were fortunate enough to see it unfold.

  • Graves has alwys been my favorite Ranger, but it honestly seems that he is getting his number retired just because he is buddies with the other 3. There's nothing in Graves' stats that make him any more deserving than any others on the all-time rangers lists......hey if they win the cup this year, are they gonna retire Jagr, Drury, and Gomez's number?
