Avery ready to agitate
Sean Avery's season is starting a little later than the rest of his New York Rangers teammates because of a knee injury from a collision with Ryan Callahan in practice. But according to Newsday, Avery is healthy and will play against the Anaheim Ducks at Madison Square Garden.
"I'm ready to go," Avery told Newsday. "It'll be nice. It's been awhile since I've played at home ... I had a pretty good training camp until I got hurt."
The Rangers will be looking for their fourth consecutive victory, so they've survived without Avery -- but history shows he's a boost for their lineup. They are 61-26-17 with him and 9-13-3 without him since he first donned a Blueshirt.
Avery likely will be eased in, with time on the fourth line, but his return will increase the competition for ice time, which pleases coach John Tortorella. &...
