NHL Morning Papers (Sunday Edition): Rangers sign Prospal, Messier returns to NY and an easier summer for the Red Wings
Brian Burke tells Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe that a player’s performance at Team USA’s orientaiton camp will not supersede how a player plays over the first half of the 2009/10 season.
Bruins winger Shawn Thornton won’t be at any Olympic orientation camps, but that doesn’t mean he is taking it easy this off-season.

Kessel will probably be an Olympian. But will be he a Bruin?
Here is an interesting article from the USA Today that talks about Phil Kessel's surgery/rehabilitation, also the article mentions where Kessel is at in the contract negotiations, they are kind of still at a stalemate. On the positive note it seems like the rehab is going better than the contract negotiations. Kessel is saying he will be back in November some time. I get kind...

from Stephen Harris of the Boston Herald,
It is an all-too-rare lovely summer day, but Bruins winger Shawn Thornton hasn’t exactly spent it on the beach or golf course. By late afternoon, he’s already had two tough workouts—skating in Wilmington, lifting weights at a gym in Charlestown—and his training is far from finished.

The Purgatory of the T-Shirt (The Bruins Off-Season So Far)
The Boston Bruins off-season can be best represented by the fate of my Phil Kessel t-shirt.Said shirt was given to me by my fiance for Christmas 2008. He had searched high and low for said shirt, to no avail. The 2008-09 season was still quite young, and Kessel had his fans, but didn't have enough to make his shirt readily available. After some begging at the Bruins Pro Shop...

Nothing New On The Kessel Front
from Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe,
(Phil) Kessel, who will turn 22 at the start of the NHL season, underwent shoulder surgery soon after the Bruins were eliminated by Carolina in Round 2 of the playoffs and likely won’t be ready to play until December. A restricted free agent without arbitration rights, he remains unsigned and has not said publicly what he wants to...
Let's play three.
While I do actually find the outdoor game to be a yawner, and an over kill, I do think this would be the venue that I would like to watch an outdoor game in. When I lived in Massachusetts back in the late 1980's early 1990's I did manage to take in 13 games in the hallowed Fenway Park and the place is absolutely an awesome baseball stadium and it might be worth the price...
