Some may be surprised by this, as Cory Stillman and even Stephen Weiss (who are the assistant captains) were rumored to be the front runners for the position, but lo and behold, the Panthers finally have a captain again.
As far as production on the ice is concerned, this is a ho hum decision, but it does add more stability in the room. McCabe is well-liked by the entire team...
