For three seasons "Amazing Andy" (as a very SMALL handful of Islanders fans had called him) kept us waiting. Yep, we kept wishing and waiting for Andy Hilbert to finally come into his own. He'd have moments of brillance (maybe more like nano-seconds) and then lapses of lethargy. He'd have one great game and we'd think, "Okay! He found it!" and then he'd lose it like a set of keys after a beer...

Over at NHL FanHouse this morning, Chris Botta is reporting that six different municipalities, including both Kansas City and the New York City borough of Queens, are interested in becoming the new home of the New York Islanders.
I don't doubt Botta's sources and I don't doubt his enthusiasm for the ...

While I should be getting today off (It's Labour Day here in Canada...I'm not up to date on United States Holidays), I'm working.
That's right. Like every musician, dog-walker, or lady of the night we don't have to work, but we do because we care.
Or something like that. I mean, at least those people get paid for what they do—I'm just some lonely guy...

These days, it seems that to be great, you have to be awful first.
If you look at some of the NHL's best young rising teams, those same teams might have been the worst in the league not too long ago.
The Pittsburgh Penguins come to mind, as do the Chicago Blackhawks; and don't forget the Washington Capitals. These teams feature the likes of some of the game's best young...
