According to espn.com, Calgary standout defenseman Dion Phaneuf has signed a 6 year extension with the club. Calgary now has all of it's core players, Jarome Iginla, Miikka Kiprusoff, Robyn Regeher and Phaneuf locked up long term.

As I reported last week, Dion Phaneuf of the Calgary Flames was about to sign a long tern deal. Today it became official as he signed a 6 year deal worth 39.5 million deal.
