However, the question that still keeps getting asked whenever the Leafs are discussed is: who are the players that are going to score the goals?
The question that Leaf fans ask next is: why can't Brian Burke do something about it?
Well, let's take a look at the Leafs' forwards.
A current list includes:
Jason Blake, Niklas Hagman, Lee Stempniak, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Matt Stajan, and Mikhail Grabovski...some others who are new-comers, some new signings, and a few rookies from last year.
For now, let's just look at the first six names. Brian Burke is not responsible for signing any of these players—with the possible exception of Mikhail Grabovski, who was resigned by Burke to a three year contract ...

Oh Brother Where Art Thou? Frantisek Kaberle to Toronto Maple Leafs?
Although Toronto is stacked with defensemen and Burke has admittedly been looking to move some of them, he has also been known to bring brothers together.
The Sedins in Vancouver, the Niedermayers in Anaheim, could the next set of NHL brothers to play on the same team for Brian Burke be the Kaberles in Toronto?
Frantisek Kaberle’s contract has been bought out by the Carolina Hurricanes...
Thomas Kaberle: Deal or No Deal?
“Unless we’re blown away” has become the phrase of choice in Toronto. Whatever happened to “no comment,” “that’s none of your business,” or “that’s for you to find out and me to know”?
What’s the point of having reporters anymore? Sports franchises are spewing it all out in the open. They might...
Mike Augello: A BOATLOAD OF CASH AND NOT MUCH TO SPEND IT ON
As the clock ticks relentlessly towards August 15th, the possibility of Tomas Kaberle being moved becomes less and less likely. The strength of the Maple Leafs bargaining position decreases as the window deadline approaches. There are reportedly two teams interested, Vancouver(who has been consistently on the list of Kaberle admirers) and Columbus, whose defensive corps is badly...

In most of these fantasy worlds, the dimly-lit homemade ice patch gives way to the bright lights of the Air Canada Centre. The young kid skates up a small patch of ice, and blasts a slapshot into an old, rusted, and...

Maple Leafs plan to land First Overall Pick
The Leafs continue to prepare for another season and all Leaf fans
(myself included) hope to see the playoff misses end but can a team
that does not have a 30 goal scorer, has a goaltender that ranked
towards the bottom of every goaltending category and the worst penalty
killing team in hockey be expected to fight for a playoff spot this
upcoming season.
Leafs get Primeau
