TEAMS: New York Rangers
PLAYERS: Jaromir Jagr
Jagr
Predictably the talk surrounding Jaromir Jagr and his contract situation hasn't gone away since the Rangers' captain spoke to the Post's Larry Brooks and expressed his desire to not be "a distraction to the team," while cryptically revealing that he has "a pretty good idea what [he's] going to do next year…but [he's] not going to say anything." As we stated on Monday, Jaromir would have been better off keeping his mouth shut.

Jagr has kept his word during the entire time he has been a Ranger so why would he change now?

He has been trashed by fans and bloggers all season long, first people wanted him traded now they are worried if he will resign with the Rangers. Jagr never complained about how he has been treated by the fans or even the media yet now you act like he is the bad guy.

Has Jagr whined like he did when he was a Pen or Cap? No

Has Jagr been a leader on and off the ice? YES ask Dubinsky or any of the other kids.

Since being put together with Dubinsky and Avery, Jagr has been playing solid hockey and if anything he has his own incentive to play solid hockey the rest of the way to get the best possible contract he can.

Jagr does know that at his age he can be offered an incentive laden contract so if he is not worried then why trash him? He badly wants to lead the Rangers to the Czech Republic and play in front of friends and family.

Jagr has been a model citizen as a Ranger so why not give him the benefit of the doubt?

Trash him when he does something wrong not for answering a question
