LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have claimed defenseman Randy Jones off of re-entry waivers, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. The Kings have also placed defenseman Alec Martinez on the injured reserve list (retroactive to October 5) due to an ankle injury.

The defenseman was claimed Thursday morning by the Los Angeles Kings on re-entry waivers. That means Jones’ $2.75 million cap hit will be split between the Flyers and Kings, who must pay the $15,000 waiver claim price as well

I reported this afternoon on CSNPhilly.com that Randy Jones is on re-entry waivers.
I think this means:
a) Simon Gagne will go on long-term injury and have hernia surgery;
b) Ryan Parent's injury is lingering;
c) Jones will go back in the lineup as the 6th defenseman
