by Adam GretzFiled under: Flyers, NHL Fans, NHL VideosFanHouse's Adam Gretz takes a look at his top 50 players in the NHL. No. 40 is Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen. When I first started this series on Sunday, one of the things I mentioned is that these types of rankings are always filled with subjectivity and personal opinion. That's just unavoidable when attempting to tackle a project like this. Your own feelings will get involved, and there's not an absolute, 100 percent accurate way to rank players and get an end-all and be-all order. It's certainly open to debate. And as I pointed out in the Scott Niedermayer comments on Wednesday, I had a difficult time arguing with myself over some of the rankings and players involved. Kimmo Timonen would be one of those players. Cote Carnival – Part 1 of 3

Now, I know the Cote Carnival isn’t for another month (a month from yesterday actually), but I had the opportunity to  play some Inbox Tag with Holly Cote, Riley Cote’s wife, on FaceBook today. Nothing too major, just a few questions and I wanted to share them with everyone. We’ve seen the work you do with [...]

The Hockey Gods Have Frowned Upon Marty Biron

I'm not quite sure what former Flyers goalie Martin Biron could have done to be banished to the Island, but it must have been more egregious than his performance as a Philadelphia Flyer. Marty was serviceable at worst, dominant when at his best, and always a great teammate and club representative. Yet when the free agency period started, one of the best goalies available went unsigned...

Extensions for the… Extended?

I originally wanted to write up a few ideas I had about resigning key impending FAs, but I realized that there aren’t many this year. Jared Ross, Nate Raduns, and Danny Syrvet are all arbitration eligible RFAs at the end of this upcoming season. So then I began to think about extensions, more of who [...]

That’s why you don’t get greedy, Marty.

I have to admit, this one is going to be a little tougher for me to write. I’ve been a fan of Martin Biron even before he signed with the Flyers and was overjoyed when I heard he’d be wearing the Orange and Black. I couldn’t wait to see him on the ice and I [...]

Philadelphia Flyers Ink Marc-Andre Bourdon to Entry-Level Contract

The Flyers have signed defenceman Marc-Andre Bourdon to a three-year entry-level contract on Friday, the terms of the contract were undisclosed as per team policy. However, according to CapGeek.com, his cap hit will be $712,500. Bourdon, 19, split time with Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL last season. He combined for 18 goals and 42 assists for 60 points while...

Ex-Flyers captain Poulin joins Maple Leafs front office

Former Philadelphia Flyers captain Dave Poulin has joined the Toronto Maple Leafs front office.

Thank You, Marty: A Proper Farewell to Another Flyers Goalie

Marty Biron signed a one-year deal with the New York Islanders this week. As a Flyers fan, it's time for what's become a tradition, to say goodbye to another starting goalie. You join a long distinguished list, Marty. If you need any insight into that list, ask you new GM Garth Snow; he was the savior for a season or two. When your cleaning out your locker, take a minute to sit with...

The Islanders will not be caught short again. Ensuring stability in nets regardless of the state of Rick DiPietro's health, the Islanders have signed free-agent goaltender Martin Biron to a one-year, $1.4 million steal of a deal, The Post has...
