The Edmonton Oilers have signed Gilbert Brule to a 1-year, two-way contract. Reports have the dollar amount at a very friendly $800,000. Brule can apparently be sent down and not clear waivers, although the CBA's language seems to contradict that statement. I think it's also fair to suggest Brule has a terrific opportunity to make the big league club this fall. The competition includes men like Steve MacIntyre, Liam Reddox and Ryan Stone (also signed today). It should be remembered this player cost the Oilers an actual NHL player (Raffi Torres). Hopefully he can become one, starting this fall.
