Not much went right for the Columbus Blue Jackets in their first trip to the playoffs last spring. They were swept by the Detroit Red Wings, and there was never a moment where it felt like Detroit was in danger of losing the series. Or even a game.

How things change. Last year's opening night shutdown defensive pair was Jan Hejda and Mike Commodore. They combined to play 163 games and were a combined +34 for the season as they played together for the entire season.
This year, Commodore is of yet to play. Hejda just went down with a sprained left knee that will keep him sidelined for 4-6 weeks after playing just 5 games...
