I'm a fan of Liam Reddox. Buddy was drafted 112th in the Ovechkin draft and climbed the ladder one rung at a time. The week he was drafted I wrote about all of the Oilers 2004 draftees. Here's a rundown on Reddox from June 27, 2004:Reddox is right off the screen for an Oiler draft pick. Great pains were made to suggest he's 5.10 instead of 5.09 but I don't really see the difference based on his style of play. His foot speed has been described as "average" which considering his size means he's the equivalent of "dead in the water" as a prospect. The scouting reports I've read have him getting outmuscled often. Why did they draft him? Because he has soft hands, he's a pure scorer. 31 goals in his rookie season in the OHL. He could turn into Michael Henrich, or he could be something better. Stands out as possibly the most unusual of KP's drafts, and imo that means they love the guy. Redline (which we saw later) suggested he was an agita...

Oilers at Avalanche, G17, 09-10

In Quebec province the men go about their business in about the same way as guys do in this part of the country. Always time for a beer or a glance at a pretty girl, always time to talk some Canadian football (believe it or not, Quebec is the new heartland of Canadian football) and hockey holds a special place.I've never really been able to get behind any kind of animosity toward...

This is Syd Howe in a St. Louis (NHL) Eagles uniform from 1934 (source: SIHR). I haven't seen an Eagles uniform before so thought it might be a point of interest for you. The Long Road to Edmonton: Ryan O'Marra Recalled

It's been a while since Ryan O'Marra was one of the key pieces of the Ryan Smyth trade puzzle. Now he's the forgotten jigsaw. It took an injury to the other key piece of the same trade, Kenta's kid Robert, to finally usher him to the stage in Edmonton...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...

Aaron Musick: Avs get penalty killed.

The Avs got killed tonight by their own lack of discipline. The Avs took eight penalties for 16 minutes and the Edmonton Oilers went 4-for-8 on them, routing the Avs 5-3. The Avs' penalty kill has been a strength of this team but tonight was pretty awful from the crease on out. For the first time this year, Craig Anderson didn't look good at all. He couldn't...
